Ty Brooks (L) and Sammy Farris (R) compete during the 2023 cross country season

Lincoln Christian won their first state title in 2014, and have collected a total of seven OSAA Championships since then. After graduating all-state runners Andrew Smithwick and Jaxson Brooks from the 2022 state title winning squad, it wouldn't have been a far thought that last year would have been a rebuilding season for Lincoln Christian.

However, head coach Stephen Lewelling knew it would be more of a reload with the talented freshman crew he had coming in from the middle school ranks. That crew included the outstanding duo of Ty Brooks and Sammy Farris.
At different meets, Brooks and Farris both ran the freshman class state leading time of 16:20.81.

Joining the Lincoln Christian duo under 16:35 were fellow class of 2027 runners Jayden Polk (Purcell) at 16:38, Landon Eubank (Dickson) at 16:32, Jack Walker (Blanchard) in 16:34.20, and with a time of 16:34.50 was Quentin Hoogs (Deer Creek).
