Deer Creek Field Run Festival Boys Entries Breakdown

Deer Creek 

The Deer Creek Field Run Festival has been a staple opener for the Cross Country season in Oklahoma. Athletes tend to run fast at this competition, and this year will be no different. The course itself is fairly flat with some small hills/bumps. It weaves in and out often and allows for some fast running. It is common that we see athletes open their seasons with personal bests at this meet. 

The fastest seed entry belongs to Ethan Jones from Cache. He ran 15:36 last year, and had a strong track season. Jones has had a consistent career thus far, and is a name to watch to possibly take the win at this year's meet. Ty Brooks finds himself as the 2nd leading seed time with a 15:39. Brooks had a dominant performance at the 4A state meet. Him and Jones clashed in multiple events, so this will be a fun race. 

Deer Creek has their own team entered in the race. Much of their returners are towards the top of the leading seed times. So it will be interesting to see how they do at their home meet. 

It looks like a large majority of the best teams in the OKC Metro are going to be in attendance. Stay tuned for more meet coverage including interviews, photos, and video.
