Weatherford Girls Win Sand Plum Meet

Weatherford girls are champions of Sand Plum Meet. Weatherford had 4 girls (George, Fischer, Seitter and Carder) in the top 10 and all 7 in the top 30 to outdistance Guthrie by 29points. Guthrie had beaten them by 1 point the week before. Kenzie George led the ladies with a fine time of 5:48. Kaisa Fischer's 16th place strengthened the team's scoring. Mikayla Woods, Brittni Albrightson, Taylor Widener and Monti Smith all scored in the top 10 in the JV division providing more depth to the team. This was the first time a Weatherford girls team has won the Sand Plum Meet in its 15 year existence. The girls are really racing and competing at a high level. Kaleb Fischer was the lone Eagle to medal however all of the boys bettered their times from last week's race at Guthrie. The boys team is short on members but competing extremely well. Kevin Kelly competed in his first race of the year finishing second for the Eagles. In the Middle School race, Kendrick Johnson and Jonathan Fischer each medaled running excellent times.
