Oklahoma Boys Performer Of The Week (1/13-1/19)

Last week Kyler Brown won the performer of the week taking 63.2% of the votes with a total of 26,090. Brown had a great year last season at Booker T. Washington, and is off to a great start this indoor season. Congratulations Kyler!

This past weekend we saw the Arkansas indoor track meet. This meet is a staple in the region and we had some great performances from Oklahoma athletes. Here are the nominees for this week.

Zachary Williams (Cache):

Williams ran 8:45.56 for the 3k to place 8th overall in a stacked field. This is a major improvement from the weekend prior. Williams comes into this season with a 4A state championship in XC last fall.

Daniel Davis (Tulsa Union):

Davis is one of Union's strongest 400m athletes and has put together multiple strong 800m outings. He ran the 800m last weekend and placed 7th overall with a 1:57.84. Great start for Davis.

Kyler Brown (Booker T. Washington):

Brown set the state indoor record in the prelims of the 200m with a time of 21.46 but chose to not run the final. He did win the 60m final with a time of 6.74.

Dominic Matthias (Moore):

The freshman continues his strong start to the indoor season with a time of 4:26.44 in the one mile race, good for 6th place. He was the first Oklahoman to cross the line in the race.

Ty Burnett (Kiefer):

Burnett placed 3rd in the high jump with a leap of 6'6. This is a great start for one of our state's best high jumpers.

Keifer Landes (Broken Arrow):

Landes placed 3rd in the pole vault with a leap of 14-8. A great start for the Broken Arrow pole vaulter.
