Culp, Clark Lead Sooners at Big 12 Meet

NORMAN, Okla. — The University of Oklahoma men's and women's cross country teams finished 11th and 12th, respectively, Friday at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Waco, Texas.

Colorado swept the team titles for the ninth time in the league's 10-year history.

Benson Chesang of Kansas won the men's individual title for the second straight year. Chesang ran the 8K Bear Run Cross Country Course in 23 minutes, 45 seconds. Colorado's Christine Bolf won the women's title, finishing the 6K in 20:24.

Blake Culp (25:22) led the Sooner men with his 41st-place result, helping OU outpace Baylor 291-346.

Aja Clark (56th, 23:11) was OU's top finishing female.

Both the men's and women's teams ran without their top runners – Jason Coleman, Tyler Schmiedeberg, Jessica Eldridge and Catherine Odell, who redshirted this season to preserve eligibility.
