Cook, Eldridge Run Quick at Stanford

NORMAN, Okla. -- Jessica Eldridge and Kristi Cook highlighted a series of performances from University of Oklahoma distance runners at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by Stanford University in Palo Alto late Sunday night.

Eldridge, running unattached, won her section of the women\'s 1,500-meter run. The Broken Arrow native beat Nike team member and former Colorado standout Renee Metivier by almost two seconds with a run of 4:17.46.

Cook, a junior, placed third in the women\'s 800-meter run (section two), clocking in at 2:09.79.

Jason Coleman, running unattached, took fifth in the men\'s 800-meter run (section two) in 1:51.87. Sophomore Brayon Brown finished ninth in the section one heat, running in 1:52.80.

Blake Culp was eighth in the men\'s 3,000-meter steeplechase. Culp completed the race in 9:26.96.
