In 2023, Lincoln Christian School's Tennyson Housley ran her way to a state title in just her freshman season


The 2024 Oklahoma cross country season is quickly approaching and the OSAA Cross Country State meet will be here before you know it.

We have a returning rankings list of girls who had superb freshman seasons. As we know on the girls side, we often see young and inexperienced runners have impactful seasons from out of the gates.

There were four freshman girls last year who return with 5K marks under 19:05 and better. Tennyson Housley (Lincoln Christian School) was one who was dominant regardless of classification. Housley won her division at the OSSAA State XC Meet with her 18:28.41 PR. 

Piedmont's Brooke Collins was the second fastest freshman last year with a time of 18:34.40; she ran that at the COAC & MMSAC. That meet was magnet for fast times with it coming in mid October.
