Becker Breaks School Record in Mile Run at Razorback Invitational

Tulsa, Oklahoma – Tulsa freshman Alex Becker captured a personal-best
and a school record in the women's mile run with a time of 4:54.64, for
and a third-place finish in the final day of competition at the
Razorback Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Complex in
Fayetteville, Ark.

Sophomore Thomas Stoltz earned a fifth-place mark in the Heptathlon
with
a score of 4,136, which ties the school record set by Louis Dailey in
2004. He competed in the 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump,
60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000-meter run.

Senior Lise Olivier notched a ninth-place mark in a time of 9:55.42 in
the 3,000-meter run for the second-best performance in school history,
while sophomore Sophia Rodriguez captured the second-best mark in
school
history in the triple jump with a jump of 11.67m (38-3.5). Freshman
Robert Nickels posted the third-best triple jump in school history for
the men with a jump of 13.24m (43-5.25).

Junior Shantel Girtley tallied a personal-record and the fifth-best
performance in school history in the 800-meter run with a time of
2:14.54 for an eighth-place mark, as classmate Stephanie Jeffers
registered a second-place mark in the weight throw with a throw of
16.00m (52-6.0).

The Golden Hurricane will return to action on February 4th at the JD
Martin Invitational in Norman, Okla.
