Oklahoma Girls Performer Of The Week (9/16-9/22)

Oklahoma Girls Performer Of The Week (9/16-9/22)

This last week was a very fast and competitive week for Oklahoma running. With quick in state meets like Pre-State and many fast out of state meets like MSSU and Sugar Creek, many athletes put up some great performances. Here are your nominees for Oklahoma Girls Performer of the Week for the week 9/16-9/22.

The winner of last week's poll was Charli Keely out of Jenks High School. She took 50% of the total votes with her top ten performance at the Lucas Lovejoy XC Festival. Congratulations Charli!

This week the nominees are as followed:

Bella Nelson, the senior Oklahoma State commit out of Owasso, placed 2nd at MSSU with a time of 18:01. Not a personal best, but still good for the 3rd fastest 5k time recorded so far this season.

Ava Cornelius, a junior out of Owasso, was right behind her teammate Nelson. Cornelius finished with a time of 18:02 and placed 3rd at MSSU. This time is a personal best and to place that high up in an out of state meet is huge for Oklahoma running.

Pressley Rutledge backed up her win last week with another at Holland Hall. Rutledge ran a time of 19:25, out running 2nd place by close to a minute on a very hilly course.

Sienna Collins won the 6A race at Pre State. The senior out of Edmond Memorial ran 18:32, which is a great follow up to her 17:45 3 mile the other week.

Avery Sager, a sophomore out of Durant won the 4A Pre State title with a time of 20:32. Another great performance from Sager.

Amidat Olokunola out of Cache has had a successful start to her season. Rather it be 5ks or the 3200m, she has been near the front or in the lead every race. This past weekend was no different, as she won the 4A pre state race with a time of 12:01

Claire Collins out of Piedmont took a massive leap at Woodbridge in California this past weekend. Coming into this race Collins had recorded a time of 18:17 in the 5k, but this last weekend she ran 17:00 for 3 miles. Although we cannot use conversions, this would likely convert to the fastest time ran this year.

Last week's winner Charli Keely, ran at Sugar Creek this past weekend. She placed 4th with a time of 18:33, marking another great time for the junior from Jenks.
