Tulsa, Oklahoma – The University of Tulsa freshman Alex Becker set a
personal-best and new school record in the mile run with a time of
4:50.90 at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa on Saturday afternoon.
This breaks the previous school record time of 4:54.64 she set at the
Razorback Invitational earlier this season. Also in the mile run,
sophomore Breanna Chipney and freshman Petrina Lamb registered
personal-bests with times of 5:10.19 and 5:14.18, respectively.
In the 800m, freshman Dawn Nagazina turned in a time of 2:11.59 for the
fourth-best time in school history, while classmate April Montgomery
raced a time of 2:13.20 for fifth-place in TU's record books. Freshman
Marissa Saunders also captured a personal-best with a time of 2:23.25.
Senior Lise Olivier tallied a ninth-place finish and personal-best in a
time of 9:49.57 in the 3,000-meter run. Her time is the second-best in
school history.
On the men's side, junior Mathew Musengezi notched a time of 1:53.36,
and sophomore Nolan Jenkins posted a time of 1:55.17 in the 800m run
for
personal-bests. Junior Andrew Beard captured a personal-best in a time
of 4:21.43 in the mile run.
In the 3,000-meter run, junior Edwin Henshaw turned in a time of
8:23.13
for a personal-best and the fourth-best time in school history.
Sophomore Brett Turowski captured a time of 8:29.84, while classmate
Joel Stansloski raced a time of 8:41.93 for personal-bests.
