Oklahoma Girls Performer Of The Week (4/7-4/13)
Last week's winner was Jenna Doolen from Edmond Memorial! Doolen took 54.85% of the votes with a total of 1,737. London Poindexter was 2nd. Congrats!
This week's performer of the week poll sees more great performances across all events. Here are your athletes nominated:
Jordan Atkinson (Mustang):
Atkinson is your defending state champion in the 100 meters. She continues to improve upon that with an 11.53 in the 100 on April 10th at the Jenks Trojan Varsity Invitational. Now a senior, Atkinson managed to set a personal best in this event. She also is now the state lead. Atkinson is tied for 35th in the country.
Bella Nelson (Owasso):
Nelson continues her strong season with a state lead of 4:59.32 in the 1600m. Nelson also won the 3200m with a 10:46.24. Nelson has yet to lose a race on Oklahoma soil this season.
Emma Robinson (Claremore):
Robinson won the 800 and 1600 at the Claremore meet. She ran 2:18.37 in the 800m and then 5:01.38 in the 1600 meters. That mark in the 1600m puts her at 2nd in the state.
Kassidi Watkins (Mustang):
Watkins picked up the win at the Jenks meet last week in the 100mH. She outran one of the best in the state, Amaya Harrison, and set a new state lead with a 14.15w. She is now tied for 77th in the country with this new personal best. Watkins also won the long jump at both the Jenks and Southern Oklahoma Invitational. She leaped 19-10.25 and then 19-11. That mark of 19-11 puts her at 21st in the USA.
Jakayla Morgan (Eisenhower):
The senior out of Eisenhower won the 300mH at the Carl Albert meet with a time of 44.15. This mark sets a new state lead.
