With the cross country season ready to kick off, many Tulsa runners elected to compete at the Riverside 5000, a local road race. The top returning team in the state, Jenks, looked as good as could be expected. Their third best returner, Matt Young (left), led the way in a quick 15:24. That is the fastest time we have for the rising junior, even faster than he ran at the Southlake Carroll Invitational where the Trojans surprised many by beating the top teams in Texas. The next Jenks runner was Cody Jones at 16:05 who was five seconds ahead of returning 4A State Champ Daniel Mazzei.
