INGRAM PLACES 52ND AT NCAA NATIONAL MEET

PENSACOLA, FLA – Southwestern Oklahoma State cross country star Rachel Ingram competed in her second consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships running Saturday at the Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola, Fla.

Ingram, a junior from Springfield, Mo., finished 52nd in a field of 187 runners with a personal best time of 21:36 for the 6,000 meter race. Ingram finished third among all Lone Star Conference participants. Abilene Christian's Olha Kryv'yak and Loice Cheboi finished 13th and 34th in the race.

The top runner was Esther Komen of Western State with a time of 20:09 seconds.

Ingram again narrowly missed out on earning All-American runners. The top 30 runners earn that distinction and the top 30 American runners also are named All-American. The 39th place finisher, Kaci Lickteig of Nebraska-Kearney, was the final runner to earn All-American status with her time of 21:25, 11 seconds ahead of Ingram.
