Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women\'s track team concluded the Conference USA Outdoor Track Championships in fifth-place in a field of 12 teams, while the Golden Hurricane men earned a sixth-place mark in a field of eight. The TU teams combined for 17 top-five marks, 15 personal-bests, set four school records and had eight tracksters pick up all-conference honors.
Junior Rickey Wilson, Jr., received all-conference first-team accolades in both the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles. He set a personal-best, a school record and qualified for NCAA Regionals with his time of 13.99 in the 110-meter hurdles, and turned in a first-place time of 53.48 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Sophomore Katy McGillen\'s javelin throw of 48.49m (159\'-1.0\") was a personal-best and school record, while freshman April Montgomery turned in a time of 1:00.43 in the 400-meter hurdles. For their efforts, McGillen and Montgomery received all-conference second-team accolades.
In the 10,000-meter run, sophomore Brett Turowski turned in an impressive second-place time of 31:32.68. His time was a personal-best, the fifth-best in school history and earned him second-team all-conference honors. Classmate Joel Stansloski captured a time of 31:39.20 in the same event, earning him a third-place finish and third-team all-conference honors.
Freshman Alex Becker and senior Lise Olivier each received all-conference third-team accolades in the 1,500-meter run and 3,000-meter steeplechase, respectively. Junior-transfer Stephanie Jeffers registered a shot put throw of 15.02m (49\'-3.50\") and a discus throw of 46.18m (151\'-6\") for third-place performances. For her efforts she received third-team all-conference honors in each of those events.
