This Week's Nominees:
Aaliyah Nix, Wister High School (Oklahoma): First place out of 501 finishers was the result at the Chile Pepper Festival, where the 5K came down to an 8.5-second margin at the line in 18:16.50. That clocking lands at No. 125 of 11,130 athletes in MileSplit's database at University of Arkansas XC Course since 2005, and No. 33 among sophomores in that span.
Paetyn Price, Ponca City High School (Oklahoma): A 15.4-second winning margin tells the story of command at the Claremore Zebra Walnut Park XC Invitational, where the 5K fell in 19:42.80, good for first of 89 finishers. That clocking ranks No. 5 of 311 athletes in MileSplit's database at Walnut Park since 2022, and among sophomores alone, it's the fastest in MileSplit's database at this course since 2022, ahead of 112 others in that grade.
Kathleen Brady, Skiatook High School (Oklahoma): First place in a 372-runner field at the Chile Pepper Festival came by a 5.5-second margin, with the 5K crossed in 19:22.20. The mark checks in at No. 597 of 11,130 athletes in MileSplit's database at University of Arkansas XC Course since 2005, No. 289 among seniors there, and it's 608.1 seconds faster than a prior outing on this same course.
Ember Stevens, Hooker High School (Oklahoma): Ran 20:08.95 for 1st place among 35 finishers in the 5K at Liberal Invitational. The winning margin was 22.4 seconds.
Olivia Foster-Skeesick, Norman North High School (Oklahoma): Running 18:55.50 for 5K at the Chile Pepper Festival placed fifth among 501 finishers, a showing that slots in at No. 336 of 11,130 athletes in MileSplit's database at University of Arkansas XC Course since 2005. Among seniors alone, that time ranks No. 173 of 3,444 in the same database.
