This Week's Nominees:
Ethan Jones, Cache High School (Oklahoma): A 19.5-second margin settled the Oklahoma Small School XC Pre-State race, with the winning time of 16:05.80 over the 5K clearing a field of 111 finishers. That performance sits at No. 9 among senior athletes in MileSplit's database at Gordon Cooper Technology Center since 2001, and No. 15 overall at the course across that same span.
Ethan Brooks, Yukon High School (Oklahoma): A 5K clocking of 15:39.83 at PreState 5A/6A was good for first out of 81 finishers, with the margin of victory stretching to 46.5 seconds. The time ranks No. 16 overall in MileSplit's database at Edmond Santa Fe High School since 2005, and No. 3 among junior athletes at that course over the same stretch.
Noah Nelson, Owasso (Oklahoma): The Owasso XC Invitational produced a winning time of 15:31.30 over the 5K, good for a 20.2-second gap over the rest of a 79-runner field. That mark stands No. 2 overall in MileSplit's database at O'Brien Park since 2013 and is the fastest junior time recorded there over that span, 64.6 seconds faster than the previous mark of 16:35.90 set on this course.
Robert Ritter, Union City High School (Oklahoma): Covering the 5K at Holland Hall in 16:51.10, the runner crossed first among 120 finishers and held off the field by 11.9 seconds. The time places No. 48 in MileSplit's database at Holland Hall School since 2004.
Henry Bair, Classen High School Of Advanced Studies (Oklahoma): First out of 89 finishers at PreState 5A/6A, a 5K time of 16:22.34 was enough to win by 16.7 seconds. The result improved on a prior mark of 16:36.06 on this course by 13.7 seconds and ranks No. 139 overall in MileSplit's database at Edmond Santa Fe High School since 2005.
