Oklahoma Feature Performances March 9th-15th

It was a great week of track and field last week. We saw some crazy fast times and some great marks in the field events. Here were some of the feature results from this past week.

Brighton Dewberry out of Union High School won both the 100 and 200 in a time of 10.57 and 20.94. Both great times, but the 20.94 is the standout of the two performances.

Joseph Williams from Broken Arrow ran 49.02 in the 400m dash. This marks one of the best freshman times in this event ever for our state.

Daniel Davis runs 1:53.80 to win the Union 800m race. He is one of the best in the state in this event, and he continues a great streak of 800 runs.

Thomas Odea runs 9:31.25 in the 3200m in route to a strong win. Odea is one of Regent's best distance runners.

Jonathan McCorvey out of Mustang runs 14.47 in the 110mH. This is a great opening time in this event.

Hudson Lott out of BA runs 38.01 in the 300mH. He is right at the line of being under 38 seconds.

Alex Nkepang from Deer Creek breaks 60 in the shot put early in the season. His mark of 60-10.00 is the state lead and a very strong mark for anytime during the season.

Landon King from Claremore threw for 171-0.00 in the discus to place first at Glenpool.

Dominic Matthias went to Nike Indoor Nationals and ran 14:16 in the 5k and 4:12 in the mile. He is in a position to potentially break the mile state record. His 14:16 is the fastest 5k ever ran by an Oklahoma high school runner.

Ava Cornelius runs 10:35.92 to bring herself very close to the state record. She is in a place to likely break it this year.

Emmory Carter wins the 100 and 200 at the Union meet with times of 11.96 and 24.50. She has had a great start to her season and is one of the early season favorites to win the state title in these events.

Daijah Gaines won the 400 at the Union Redhawk meet with a time of 57.09. This sets her up to likely break 57 this season.

Courtney Occhiuzzo from Chisholm wins the 3200 and 1600 at the Hennessey track meet. She ran 11:03 and 5:12. The freshman is off to a great start this season.
