POTW GIRLS 3/24/25-3/30/25
This past week was a great week of performances for Oklahoma athletes. This article details those performances and lists the athletes that are up for performer of the week.
In the sprints, Nikole Cozort from Bixby High School was the 200m champion at East vs. West on March 28th. She ran a time of 24.35, a new state lead and personal best. Cozort is having a great start to her outdoor season.
Jenna Doolen from Edmond Memorial won the 400m at East vs. West with a blistering fast time of 56.11. Doolen is one of the state's best 400m runners, and she continues to prove that every race.
Victoria Porter out of Broken Arrow High School won the 100 meter dash last Friday at East vs. West with a time of 11.72. This is a new state lead and personal best for Porter.
In the distance events Bella Nelson and Natalie Duggan are nominated for performer of the week. Nelson out of Owasso ran a 5:00.29 in the 1600m setting a new state lead for OSSAA schools. Natalie Duggan from Edmond Santa Fe, won the 1600m and 3200m at East vs. West with times of 5:07.53 and 11:01.84.
The hurdles saw Amaya Harrison out of Tulsa Union win both the 100mH and 300mH at East vs. West. Her time of 14.64 in the 100mH is a state lead.
At East vs. West, Libby Jaques from Moore High School narrowly missed her own state record that she set earlier this month in the shot put. Her state record being 47-2, she threw 47-1 last friday to win the shot put at East vs. West. Jaques is ranked 6th in the US.
Ellie Stine out of Lincoln Christian threw a new state lead 149-1 in the discus last friday. Stine won the event and set a huge personal best. She is ranked 19th in the USA with that throw.
Arabella Allo from Deer Creek leaped 18-5.5 in the long jump to put her at 3rd in the state in this event. Allo won the event at East vs. West.
Josie Fowler out of Broken Arrow High School jumped 12-5 in the pole vault to win East vs. West last friday. Fowler's leap is a state lead and a personal best. She is tied for 28th in the US.
