Oklahoma Performer Of The Week Boys 3/24-3/30

POTW BOYS 3/24/25 to 3/30/25

This past week saw meets all across the state produce some great performances. With highlights across all events, let's break down the performances and the athletes up for performer of the week!

Starting off in the sprints, Gage Gibbons out of Deer Creek High School continues his great start to the outdoor season with a win over some of the state's best at 100m. At the East vs. West meet in Edmond, Gibbons beat the rest of the field in a blistering time of 10.52. He is tied for the state lead. 

Knoxtyn Rallo defended his home track as he won the 200m at the Piedmont HS Track Invitational with a time of 21.74. This time puts him at 2nd in the state. 

Britton Mccune of Jenks High School set a new personal best and state lead at East vs. West with a time of 14.52 in the 110mH. He beat the rest of the field handily and is starting off the outdoor season strong. 

Caleb Goodman out of Charles Page crushed the 300mH at the Oologah track meet on March 27th. He ran a time of 38.69, which is the new state lead and a personal best for Goodman. 

In the throws, Caleb Beyer out of Jenks High School threw an Oklahoma number five best throw in the shot put this season with his win at East vs. West. Beyer threw 55-4 feet, setting a new personal best. 

Dan Newton set a 5th best discus throw in the state this season at East vs. West. Newton, from Carl Albert High School, threw 175-5 feet. Also a new personal best!

In the long jump, Kayleb Barnett out of Jenks High School set a huge new personal best in the long jump with a leap of 23-9.75. He is now ranked 2nd in the state. He is ranked 28th in the USA. 

Malakhi Straker won the high jump at East vs. West with a leap of 6-7. Straker is out of Tulsa Union and is one of the best jumpers in 6A. 

Brody Maasen from Jenks High School continued his exceptional start to the season with a time of 4:18.95 in the 1600m run, taking the win at East vs. West. Maasen has now run 4:22.39, 4:31.02, 4:18.70, and 4:18.95 in this event so far this month. 

Dominic Matthias out of Moore High School continued his outstanding freshman season with a 2nd place performance in the 1600m with a time of 4:22.39 and a 1st place finish in the 3200m with a time of 9:53.16. Matthias competed at East vs. West last Friday.
