Honestly, there simply aren't enough words to accurately describe the historic weekend of high school track and field that we just witnessed.
Whether they were competing at THE TRACK at New Balance, or The Armory, the nation's best athletes shined on the final weekend of the indoor season.
The National Performer of the Week poll will close at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 20, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
Take a look at five of the top-performing boys from last weekend.
POLL: National Girls XC Performer of the Week (Mar. 10-16)
Kyler Brown, Oklahoma Cheetahs Track Club (Okla.): A national title was the name of the game for Brown at New Balance Nationals Indoor, as he won the 60m title with a new U.S. No. 1. Brown clocked 6.61 to hold off the field by a mere hundredth of a second. Brown also ran the second-fastest time in the 200m prelims, clocking 21.11.
Tate Taylor, Harlan (Texas): A busy weekend was a rewarding one, as the junior snuck under the previous high school national record, running 20.46 at Nike Indoor Nationals. Taylor also shattered the meet and facility record as well. Taylor also finished runner-up in the 60m in 6.64 and was a part of the group that finished fourth in the 4x400m.
Marcelo Mantecon, Belen Jesuit Preparatory (Fla.): What a day for the sophomore! At Nike Indoor Nationals, Mantecon clocked 14:14.38 for 5000m, leading four more under 14:30. This performance makes the sophomore the new class record holder, breaking Orland Park's (Ill.) Lukas Verzbicas' record of 14:18.42 from 2009. Mantecon also helped the Wolverines win the 4xMile national title in 17:06.5.
Jake Odey-Jordan, Archbishop Carroll (DC): The junior's stretch of dominance at NBNI continued through his junior campaign. He successfully defended his 200m title from a year ago, stopping the clock at 20.90, a season-best. Odey-Jordan also helped the Lions set a new national record in the 4x200m, as the quartet clocked 1:24.37 in prelims before winning the final in 1:24.99.
Josiah Tostenson, Crater (Ore.): It was a weekend full of winning for the Washington-bound senior, as Tostenson opened up his stint at NBNI with a win in the 2-Mile, running 8:46.09, a PB and the second-fastest time in Oregon history. Tostenson followed that up with a dominant anchor leg that led the Oregon Distance Project to a 16:59.08 performance in the 4xMile, the third-fastest in U.S. history.
