Oklahoma Girls Performer Of The Week (9/23-9/29)

This past week two major meets in the season occurred on the same day, one being The Chili Pepper Festival in Arkansas and the other being the Cowboy Jamboree in Oklahoma. At Chili Pepper, we saw many Oklahoma athletes compete with the best in our region. At Cowboy Jamboree the story was the same as we saw many great performances against some top out of state talent. So with these two meets behind us, here are your performer of the week nominees, as well as last week's winner.

LAST WEEKS WINNER: CLAIRE COLLINS FROM PIEDMONT OKLAHOMA!!!

Here are your nominees for this week (9/23-9/29):

Bella Nelson continued her fast season at Chili Pepper. She placed 4th overall the Chili Pepper and was the first Oklahoman across the tape. In the process the senior set a new personal best of 17:26. This time places her 4th all time for an Oklahoma high school athlete across the 5000m.

Gwen Pierce out of Tulsa Noah was the 4th Oklahoman across the line at the Cowboy Jamboree. It is uncommon that we see a home school athlete hang around with the best in the state, and Pierce did just that. She crossed the line in 19:57, a quick time for the toughest course in Oklahoma.

Natalie Duggan from Edmond Santa Fe made her season opener at Chili Pepper. She was the 2nd Oklahoman across the line and 5th overall in a time of 17:46. Duggan was the state runner up last year and will look to content for the state title on November 2nd.

Ava Thompson from Bing placed 17th at Chili Pepper with a time of 18:32. This time was a huge personal best and Thompson was the 5th Oklahoman across the line.

Charli Keely was the first Oklahoman at the Cowboy Jamboree. She placed 5th with a time of 18:59 and out ran Emma Johnson from Edmond North.
