Top 50 Girls Returners In The Tulsa Metro

Leading the charge going into this season is Bella Nelson from Owasso. Her time of 17:29.10 at last year's state meet is the state meet record. To add to this accomplishment, she is also ranked 4th all time at this distance in Oklahoma high school girl's cross country. (Ranking via Milesplit)

Nelson, a recent Oklahoma State commit, will surely look to win another individual title and help lead the charge for the Owasso Rams. Not far behind is Edmond Santa Fe's, Natalie Duggan. After a successful track season, Duggan is an athlete to watch throughout this fall. Over the summer, she ran the 5000m at Nike Outdoor Nationals. Although raced on a track, her time of 17:12.31 sets her up well for a great season this fall.

Ranked in third coming into this season is Gwyneth Meyers out of Bishop Kelley. Meyers is coming off a track season that saw personal bests of 2:13.11 (800m) and 4:56.62 (1600m). With this kind of speed, it will be interesting to see how she runs this fall over the 5000m distance. Contrary to Nelson and Duggan though, Meyers will compete in 5A. So, it will likely be rare that we ever see her match up against those two.
