State Leaderboard: Girls 4/22/2024

As we near the end of the 2024 regular season we wanted to drop one last leaderboard update for y'all to see where your favorite athletes from across the state stack up. We are 10 days away from small school state and another 7 days from large school state. I don't foresee the following lists changing tremendously over that time as most teams will be preparing for the big dance with a touch of rest and some sharpening of their skills.  I would approximate that our data is 95% complete so some notable exclusions may be present. If you see a result not included in the following list feel free to check out our article about how to get results posted.

Sprints/Hurdles

Headlining the sprints is a 100m hurdle showdown for the ages between state leader Kayvon Nubine (Edmond Memorial) and defending champ Inara Ukawuba (Edmond North). Kayvon began the season on a hot streak of fast times and wins. Inara responded in her season opener by running a state lead of 14.11 down at Texas Relays but Kayvon came up with a big win at COAC in 13.99. One week later Inara got the best of Kayvon at the John Jacobs Invitational by .03 but no reclamation of the state lead. This past weekend up north in the land of Jayhawks Kayvon extended her state leading mark down to 13.85. This race was dramatic last year and I forecast no drop in the action at state.

In the flat sprint some top athletes to watch are Mustangs Jordan Atkinson who is the state leader by a solid margin at 11.65. Freshman sensation Kailyn Bratton of Putnam City who holds the state lead in the 200m at 24.44. In the quarter mile watch out for 1/2 of the Tulsa Union Gaines twins Daijah Gaines who is the state leader at 56.25. I would be remiss to not mention the 5A favorite in the 100m/200m/400m Victoria Porter from Nathan Hale High School Porter has the best range of any sprinter in the state with seasons bests of 10.79, 24.47, and 56.89.
