Deer Creek 3/1/24 Meet Recap

Kicking off the 2024 Oklahoma High School Outdoor Track and Field season was the Deer Creek home meet. Although it was a distance heavy meet, there were great performances all around. Santa Fe High School took the girls team score with 166.84 points scored. And Edmond Memorial High School took the boys team score with 218.50 points. 

Let's break down the key performances and all the winners. 

Champions:

Boys 100m: Elyjah Mckissick (Choctaw High School) 11.15

Girls 100m: Helen Olszewski (Casady High School) 12.58

Boys 200m: Lamar Jayly Mangrum (Edmond Memorial High School) 22.76

Girls 200m: Nia Moore (Santa Fe High School) 25.78

Girls Discus: Taybor Moss (Piedmont High School) 106-03.00

Boys Long Jump: Trae White (Edmond Memorial High School) 20-09.50

Girls Long Jump: Laniyah Curry (Santa Fe High School) 17-06.00

Boys High Jump: Trae White (Edmond Memorial High School) 5-10.00

Girls High Jump: Lina Straub (Ponca City High School) 4-08.00

Boys Pole Vault: Reese Qualls (Edmond North High School) 13-06.00

Girls Pole Vault: Marley Osenbaugh (Santa Fe High School) 8-00.00

Some important things to note:

Natalie Duggan doubles with 3200m and 1600m wins. Running under 11 in the 3200m and a big time kick to win the 1600m in 5:10.10.

Lalia Ukawuba wins the 100m hurdles as a freshman and gets the state lead. 

Edmond Memorial Boys go 1-2-3 in both the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles.

Deer Creek Girls go 1-2 in 300m hurdles.

Brody Woodcock sub 4:20 in the 1600m to open up the outdoor season. 

Edmond Memorial boys 4x800m runs 8 flat for the 2nd time this year.

Santa Fe girls win the 4x100m and 4x200m.

Edmond Memorial boys go 1-2 in the high jump and long jump with Trae White winning both. 

Santa Fe goes 1-2-3 in the girls pole vault. 

Zachary Rutherford goes roughly 9:24 to win the boys 3200m.
