Rogers vs Bentonville

Does this sound familiar? I feel like I am beating a dead horse when I mention these two teams. First, it's Loewe vs. Beshear, now it is their two respective programs being pitted against one another in a race both squads are capable of winning.

While I believe Loewe owns the advantage in the individual race, Rogers looks to own a significant advantage in the team race come Saturday.

Led by Beshears, Rogers' top five is rounded out by four freshmen who have made an immediate impact and will benefit greatly from this early season test against Bentonville.

The team's 1 through 4 are as even as can be and the fifth runner may very well end up being what determines the outcome of this weekend's race, which gives the advantage to Rogers.

Elizabeth Scudder has been Rogers' fifth runner this season and has done a spectacular job in her role, even dipping under the 20-minute mark by 23 seconds at the Missouri Southern Stampede two weeks ago.

In such a crowded event, perhaps it is Bentonville's 1-3 punch that pushes them over the edge on Saturday, but regardless of the result, this will not be the last time we talk about these two goliaths this season.
