Individual Recap: (Watch Race)If he had been going for the record, we would've seen Carter Blunt off the front from the gun, but he sat with the leaders through 1k, then began to open up after that point. As Blunt picked up the pace and split the leaders, it was David Strome and the Southlake duo of Reed Brown and Charlie Gardner who would fight for 2nd. After exiting the woods, Blunt continued to extend his lead, and Brown had put some distance into the rest of the chasers. Blunt would cross the line in a new US #1 15:00! Strome held on for 3rd in between Brown(2nd) and Gardner(4th). We wont see Blunt step on a starting line again until District, but don't forget about the Independence senior. No doubt he'll be making a big impact on the national scene after State.Team Recap:Along with the top finishers we saw earlier, Michael Waugh's 16:09 for Southlake put their 1st three in the Top-10, and all of their scorers would finish in the Top-20 to pull of a dominant win. Grapevine didn't have a low stick like most of the top teams, but they had the best 1-5 compression of the Top-12 teams. That tight pack running earning them the runner up position. The battle for 3rd was close between Tascosa and Wakeland.
