The Wabash cross country team scored a ninth-place finish at Saturday's Pre-Nationals Invitational at Hanover College. The Little Giants competed without their top-seven runners, who ran Friday afternoon at the Notre Dame Invitational.
Sean Lewis recorded the top finish for the Red Pack, crossing the finish line in 34th place with a time of 27:02.04 for the 8,000-meter course.
Mason McKinney finished 44th with a time of 27:17.23.
Ryan Horner grabbed 53rd place (27:28.85).
Jake Ponton was the next Wabash runner to finish, turning in a time of 27:37.75 good for 63rd place.
Cole Hruskovich finished 91st (28:06.09) to complete the scoring for the top-five Little Giant runners.
Jacob Caddick finished 96th (28:11.22), while
Jared Santana took 106th place (28:20.32).
Wabash tallied 261 points in team competition. Loras won the competition with a score of 66 points.
The Little Giants will spend the next few weeks preparing for the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Championship meet to be held November 2 at Allegheny College.
