ORU Runs 7:17 in 4x800 Relay

Austin, Texas- After the third day of day of competition, the Oral Roberts University track and field team has one individual champion and one relay champion at the 79th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas at Mike A. Meyers Stadium.

Cross Country All-American Faithy Kamangila took first place in the women\'s 5,000 meter run on Thursday afternoon. Kamangila turned in an outstanding performance for the Austin crowd, finishing with a time of 17:22.21, more than nine seconds faster than the second place finisher.

On the men\'s side, the 4x800 meter relay team broke a stadium record and took first with a combined time of 7:17.02, edging out second place by 1.56 seconds.

The 4x400 meter relay team qualified ninth in the preliminary round with a combined time of 3:08.62 and will compete on Saturday in the finals.

The Golden Eagles return to action Saturday, April 8, for the final day of competition.
