FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Oklahoma State juniors David Pomies and Joe Gray, along with redshirt sophomore David Jankowski, made strong showings at the Arkansas Invitational this weekend.
Pomies finished in first place in his heat of the mile run with a time of 4:19.23. Gray\'s time of 4:23.17 was good for third in his heat and Jankowski finished fourth in his heat with a time of 4:23.21. All three Cowboy runners finished in the top-15 in the final standings. Pomies finished 11th, Gray finished 14th and Jankowski finished 15th.

\"All our guys came out and did exactly what we wanted them to do this weekend,\" said Cowboy Assistant Coach Dave Smith. \"This early in the season we just treat these meets as exaggerated workouts, not wanting to run too fast too early in the season.\"

\"We had our mile runners rune ten miles before the actual race,\" said Smith. \"We had a few guys come back and run great times. Pomies ran the last part of the race really well and ended up finishing in his heat.\"

The Cowboys will have next weekend off before traveling to Manhattan, Kan., to compete in the Wildcat Invitational on Jan 27.
