Tulsa Men\'s Cross Country Team Finishes 12th At Chile Pepper Invitational

Tulsa, Oklahoma – The University of Tulsa's cross country teams both
competed at the Chile Pepper Invitational on Saturday in Fayetteville,
Arkansas. The Golden Hurricane men finished 12th in a field of 35
teams, while the TU women tallied a 13th-place finish in a field of 38
teams.

Sophomore Joel Stansloski turned in the Golden Hurricane men's top
finish with a 62nd-place mark in a time of 31:16.9 for the 10,000-meter
course. Classmates Brett Turowski and Edwin Henshaw recorded a
70th-place finish in a time of 31:31.2 and an 86th-place mark in a time
of 31:52.2, respectively. Junior Andrew Beard earned TU's fourth-best
performance with his 106th-place finish in a time of 32:08.8 in his
first race of the season. Sophomore Jason Schweitzer rounded out
Tulsa's top-five with his time of 32:27.2 for a 121st-place mark.

On the women's side, Junior Lise Olivier led the Golden Hurricane for
the fourth-straight time this season with her 47th-place mark in a time
of 22:04.9 for the 6,000-meter course. Breanna Chipney, a sophomore at
TU, claimed a 54th-place finish in a time of 22:16.1, while a pair of
freshmen, Alex Becker and Marissa Saunders, notched the 94th- and
95th-place marks for Tulsa with times of 22:57.3 and 22:58.8,
respectively. Junior Renine Le Heron finished with a time of 23:06.9
for a 103rd-place mark.

The Golden Hurricane cross country teams will return to action on
Sunday, October 30th at the Conference USA Championships.
