Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
Quinton Mask, Macarthur High School (Oklahoma): Won the 100m in 10.14 and placed 4th in the 200m at the OSSAA 5A/6A State Championship. His 200m time of 21.10 beat state-ranked Jonathan McCorvey among others in the field.
Maverick Nance, Bixby High School (Oklahoma): Swept both throwing events at the OSSAA 5A/6A State Championship with marks of 62-3 in the shot put and 181-1 in the discus. Won both events convincingly in large fields of over 30 competitors each.
Brody Pitt, Broken Arrow High School (Oklahoma): Clocked a state-leading 47.03 to win the 400m at the OSSAA 5A/6A State Championship, taking the top mark in Oklahoma this season.
Jonathan McCorvey, Mustang High School (Oklahoma): The top sophomore hurdler in Oklahoma won the 110m hurdles in 13.80 at the OSSAA 5A/6A State Championship. Also competed in the 200m, where he ranks 6th among state sophomores.
James Duffy, Edmond North High School (Oklahoma): Posted a state-leading 1:52.70 to capture the 800m title at the OSSAA 5A/6A State Championship, establishing himself as the top middle distance runner in Oklahoma this season.
