OK Girls Who Broke Into The Top 5 Rankings Last Week Part 2

Last week was full of big time performances across all events and divisions. With the season hurling forward towards post-season meets, we are seeing athletes really step it up.

Ava Cornelius (Owasso)

Cornelius is known more for the 1600 and 3200 meter events. However, last week, she ran an open 800 at her conference meet. During this race she managed to win with a quick 2:16.74. This time is ranked 4th overall in the state. The senior from Owasso could make an appearance towards the top of the podium at state if she decides to run this event. Cornelius also had another performance that was good for top 5 in the state. This time it was the 1600m, where she ran a new state lead of 4:57.09. Cornelius joins a short list of athletes that have ran 4:57 or better in Oklahoma.

Molly Missildine (Edmond Memorial High School)

Missildine has had a great spring after a successful fall Cross Country season. The sophomore out of Edmond Memorial placed well at the OSSAA 6A XC State Championships and has used the momentum to be competitive across all major distance events in high school track. She ran a 2:17.99 in the 800m last week, which is good for 5th in the state.

Charli Keely (Jenks High School)
