Last week was full of big time performances across all events and divisions. With the season hurling forward towards post-season meets, we are seeing athletes really step it up.
Porter is the best sprinter in the state by leading in the 100m and 200m. Last week, she ran a state lead in the 200 meters with an insanely fast time of 23.75. This places her closer to the state record, and higher up in the national rankings.
Dooley had a huge run at the Bulldog Twilight meet last week. The freshman ran a truly sensational 400m dash with a time of 56.80. She is the best freshman in the state at this event and is currently 3rd overall. Dooley is one of the best 400m runners that LCS has ever had.
Ball is a junior out of Elk City. She has been consistent all season in the 400m and that consistency paid off last week in her winning time of 56.91 on April 24th. Ball is a name to watch as we get closer to the state meets. She currently ranks 4th overall in the state.
Clark also ran a very strong 400m last week. This now marks three athletes running top 5 in the state times in the same week! She ran 57.15, which is the number 5 time in the state. Clark is a sophomore and will be facing strong competition in 6A as the state meet is just around the corner. She has had a great season so far!
Crabaugh ran the new state lead in the 800m last week. The freshman out of Edmond Memorial ran 2:15.21 to place first overall. This has been an interesting year for the 800m, and frankly the event feels wide open at state. However, Crabaugh is one of the major favorites to win the title, as she has proved her ability to win at big meets. She has ran an outstanding freshman season thus far.
