5/7-Cardinal O\'Hara\'s depth wins-two meet records broken @ Delco Girls\' Champs @ Upper Darby

Cardinal O\'Hara has depth. Taking five events wins, and placing eight other athletes in the top three, they tallied 137 points to win the Delco Girls\' Championship. Three of the event titles were in a sweep of the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relays. O\'Hara\'s 9;31.32 4x800 was particularly noteworthy. Two big meet records were rewritten. Sheila Klick (Foot Locker finalist and multiple record holder) of Archbishop Prendergast, ran 11:09.4 in 1999 for 3200 meters. Haverford\'s Julia Somers, in a sprint to beat O\'Hara\'s Beth Kelly to the line, went 11:09.11, with Kelly just back at 11:10.68. Also breaking a meet record was frosh Shot Put star Karen Shump of Penncrest... and she crushed it by over two feet with a throw of 41-10.50. Archbishop Carroll\'s Devon DuPont won two events, the Long Jump (17-06.75) and 300 Hurdles (44.47). Interboro\'s Katie Quinn was tops in the sprints, taking the 100 in 12.62 and 200 in 25.49. And Strath Haven\'s Lisa Vienneau posted a great 1600, winning in 5:05.07.
