Washington Distance Recruit Allie Janke Commits To Arkansas

The University of Arksansas' women's recruiting class just keeps getting better and better.

This week, the Razorback women earned a pledge from their third top 50 recruit in MileSplit's Class of 2021 rankings, gaining a commitment from Spokane North Central (WA) standout Allie Janke, a 5-time state champion in Washington across cross country and track and field.

Janke, ranked No. 27 in MileSplit's most recent recruiting list, joins No. 5 Sydney Thorvaldson and No. 42 Heidi Nielson as other top-tier commits headed to Fayettville.

Janke has qualified for two national cross country championships over the past two seasons, helping North Central (WA) earn a team bid to Team XC Nationals in 2019, while she previously finished 22nd at Foot Locker Nationals in 2018.

Which means Janke will likely be a two-way runner for the Razorbacks, with opportunities to compete for conference and national titles both on the grass and on the track.

Based on Janke's resume, there's a lot the Washington native can do on the trakc, too. She has posted career best marks of 4:43.60 for 1,600m, 4:42.91 for 1-mile, 10:10.83 for 3,200m and 17:10.10 for 5K in cross country. At an elite level, Janke finished fourth in the girls mile at Brooks PR in 2019.

In cross country, she's logged seven perforfances under 18 minutes, with three of those coming as a junior. She finished fourth overall at the Team XC Northwest Regional in a personal best time.
