CHICKASHA -- Jamie Nance seemed to have one goal when he stepped into Memorial Stadium Thursday for the Chickasha Invitational. The Blanchard junior wanted to make the track meet his own personal playground.

From the results, he may have done just that.

Nance blew away the competition in the 100 meters when he set a new personal record with a time of 10.49. The next closest runner was Washington's Tyler Stuever at 11:01.

Nance's new PR is one of the fastest in the state so far this season in the 100 meters.

But Nance wasn't done there. He earned the 200-meter dash title with a time of 22.27. He was more than a full second faster than Moses McCaskill of Altus.

Nance also came out and took the long jump title with a leap of 22-feet-9, which is the fourth best jump in 6A this season. He held off Elk City's Scott Braiden, who came in at 22-feet-2.

With those two victories, Nance accounted for 20 of Blanchard's 54 total points.

But that wasn't enough to slow down Altus, who won the boy's team championship. They steamrolled the competition with 114 points. That was 41 more points than runner-up Tuttle.

Lawton MacArthur (58), Washington (57), Millwood (56), Noble (56), Blanchard (54), Elk City (45), Lawton High (39) and Anadarko (27) rounded out the top 10 in the 14 team field.

On the girl's side, it was Altus again who came away as the champion, but in a much closer race. They totaled 124 points, which was enough to hold off Lawton High's 119 point effort.

Tuttle (74), Lawton Eisenhower (69), Millwood (48), Anadarko (43), Chickasha (34), MacArthur (31), Elk City City (30) and Mustang (24) followed.
The Lady Bulldogs of Altus won the 4x800 relay with a time of 10:40. That was 10 seconds faster than second place Tuttle.

Lakysia Johnson of Altus also won the 300-meter hurdles with a 47.83 in the event. Her teammate Jordan Benway took the discus with a throw of 103-01.

Other standouts include Eisenhower's Gena Rogers, who won the long jump with a 17-02. MacArthur's Alexis Chao won the pole vault at the height of 9-06.

Kiera Williams of Millwood snagged the girl's 200-meter dash title while Lawton's Lanecia Edmundson won the 400-meter dash.

In the boys 800-meter run, Noble's Jack Allen beat out his teammate, Cooper Barnes, by two seconds to win the event with a 2:06.

MacArthur's Daniel Nickell had just enough in the tank to beat out Noble's Calvin Allen in the 1600-meter run. The race came down to a sprint to the finish line as Nickell posted 4:52.36 to win.
